Recruiting – For A Trainee Architectural Technician

We are seeking a trainee architectural technician, who is bright, keen and has a passion for place-making and a genuine interest in the construction industry. We will provide the successful candidate with in-house training as well as the opportunity to attend part-time day release subsidiary construction course at Somerset College of Arts and Technology or Bath College.
The role will be to support the other members of the team, participate in the whole spectrum of Architecture, by undertaking surveys, developing design proposals, collating technical information. Working predominantly on computer you will need to have a keen interest in using and learning CAD, as well as developing hand drawing skills.
The right candidate will have:
an interest in building science and technology.
drawing skills and ability to interpret another person’s vision
good verbal and written communication skills
enthusiastic and mature enough to work in a diverse environment
confidence using computers and adapting to new IT and design software, including programmes such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop
ability to take responsibility, meet project deadlines and work collaboratively and take up challenges.
At least five GCSEs (A*-C) or equivalent (useful subjects include Maths, Physics, IT, Art , Design & Technology).
